Case details
Ryan was treated for male-pattern hair loss affecting the front of the scalp. His procedure focused on rebuilding the receding hairline.
Our published FUE price examples start at £1,999 for 500 grafts and £2,999 for 1,000 grafts. FUT and DHI procedures start from £3,999. Your surgeon must confirm that the proposed procedure and graft count are suitable.
Your final price depends on the number of grafts required, the area being treated, the condition of your donor hair and the surgical method used. Larger procedures for more extensive hair loss can cost up to £10,000.
Initial consultations are free. Your written quotation is confirmed after your hair loss, donor area and treatment requirements have been assessed.

The number of grafts has the greatest effect on the price, but it is not the only part of the calculation. A quote also has to account for the size of the treatment area, the quality of the donor hair, the procedure being used and the amount of surgical time required.
Restoring a small section of the hairline or filling the temple points requires fewer grafts than treating the complete frontal area. When hair loss extends through the mid-scalp or into the crown, more grafts and surgical time are normally required.
Crown work is planned differently from a frontal hairline because the grafts must follow the direction of the natural whorl. If the hairline and crown both require treatment, the available donor hair has to be divided carefully between them.
Donor density determines how many follicular units can be removed without leaving the back or sides of the scalp visibly depleted. Hair thickness, curl and colour contrast also affect the amount of coverage that can be created with a given number of grafts.
This is why photographs can support an initial estimate but cannot replace a proper donor-area assessment. The final plan must be based on the hair that can be removed safely, rather than the number of grafts a patient would simply like to have.
FUE and FUT describe different ways of obtaining donor grafts. DHI describes placement with an implanter. Our FUE examples start at £1,999 for 500 grafts; FUT and DHI start from £3,999. The written quote should state the method, graft range and what is included.
An unshaven or partially shaven approach may require more surgical time. Suitability and the number of grafts that can be treated depend on the case and the surgeon’s assessment.
Extensive hair loss does not always need to be treated in a single operation. A larger case can be divided into separate stages so the donor area is protected and the areas that matter most are treated first.
The consultation is used to agree the treatment priorities, likely graft requirement and procedure before a written price is issued. You can also read our hair transplant donor-area guide for more information about donor assessment.
The procedure recommended will depend on your pattern of hair loss, donor hair and the area being treated. The starting prices below are followed by a full written quotation once your graft requirement has been assessed.
Our FUE examples start at £1,999 for 500 grafts. Follicular units are removed individually from the donor area and placed in the planned recipient sites. FUE leaves small extraction scars rather than a linear strip scar.
The price is based on the number of grafts required and the time needed to extract, prepare and place them. A procedure involving around 2,000 grafts will normally take a full surgical day.
FUT starts from £3,999. A narrow strip of scalp is removed from the donor area before the follicular units are separated under magnification.
The price covers graft dissection, the clinical team, specialist equipment and closure of the donor area. FUT can be considered by patients who do not want the donor area shaved and by some patients with tightly curled or Afro-textured hair.
DHI starts from £3,999. The extracted grafts are placed using a specialist implanter, giving the surgeon direct control over their depth, position and direction.
DHI generally takes longer than standard FUE and is normally used for smaller or medium-sized treatment areas where precise placement is required.
A beard transplant starts from £2,999. Donor follicles are taken from the scalp and placed into the beard, moustache or sideburn area.
The number of grafts will depend on whether treatment is intended to fill a small patch, strengthen an existing beard or create wider coverage.
Eyebrow treatment may involve filling a small section or restoring one or both eyebrows. The quotation depends on the number of grafts, the donor method and the detail needed to follow the natural angle and direction of eyebrow growth.
Ask whether an unshaven or partially shaven procedure is suitable and whether it changes the quote. There is no single graft limit that applies to every patient.

Your written quote should explain the included aftercare kit, review appointments and support period. Ask about any extra appointments or medicines that would be charged separately.
FUT and DHI involve different preparation and placement methods, but the price also depends on graft numbers and the individual plan. Both have a published starting price of £3,999; compare the complete written quotes.
Finance is available, subject to the finance provider’s approval, terms and affordability checks. The procedure and written quote must be confirmed before an application is completed.
